IRINGA UWASA-KITWIRU WATER SUPPLY PROJECT

The project was designed and planned focusing on increased water production and extension of Kitwira water supply infrastructure. The objective was to cover un-served areas of Kitwiru Ward that has a population of 11,461 (2012 census) with clean and safe water.


The project covers three components (i) construction of pump house (one unit), raising main (600m) and distribution network (10km), (ii) construction of storage tank (300m3), supply and Installation of one set of pump with associated accessories and (iii) connecting a total of 900 new customers (Kitwiru, Mawelewele and Ngelewala).
The output targets of the Kitwiru Water Supply Project were verified in March 2017 and all three components were finalized.

The MoWI is in a process of grant disbursement to the Iringa Water Supply and Sanitation Authority.
