The IFF-OBA team carried out a project proposal field assessment from 13th to 14th February 2019. The team visited the Mabayanidam, pump house, MOWE treatment plant, the location for the construction of 2 sand filters and a 1000m3 clear water tank.
The team held interviews with customers in Kakindu, Pongwe, Saruji ward and Kilimanjaro cement.During this year’s dry season Tanga UWASA has been rationing its water supply for the first time. The proposed project intends to increase water production through the rehabilitation of the water treatment plant and the construction of a new clear water tank.Water conveyance shall be improved through the construction of a bigger diameter raising main.
Way forward: The utility is in the process of revising the project proposal and BOQs. Thereafter, the Consultant will compile a comprehensive assessment report for the envisaged project.
